I know of several at Perkins, including Michael Hawn, a classmate of mine at the SBTS in the early 1970s. We might expect that these people have contributed to the discussion.

After the conservative takeover of the SBC, many of us Southern Baptists were marginalized; I saw my own name on two "do not hire" lists. Some of us switched denominations; I became a Methodist (though I'm still a member of the Alliance of Baptists). Though infant baptism has not been an issue with me as a Methodist, there have been other wonderful and ecumenical discussions, particularly about grace.

I presently am serving as musician at a Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Richmond, VA, where the range of theology is much wider than in any other congregation I have served. The denomination holds as a hallmark its ecumenism. I find many former Southern Baptists involved, which makes Bible studies all the more interesting!D. This would have been an interesting topic to raise with him.Scott Rushinghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05941615826228265183noreply@blogger.com
