Ecumenism Means You, Too cover design
Cascade Books has now finalized the cover for Ecumenism Means You, Too: Ordinary Christians and the Quest for Christian Unity. I will link ordering information here when available--stay tuned.
Hi Steven, I am looking forward with great enthusism to your new book when it comes out. I am also looking forward to reading a friend of mine's new book on the same subject by John Armstrong called "Your Church is too Small" which comes out this April.
The cover is indeed a U2 reference, since in the book I use the theological framework embedded in the U2 catalog to illustrate various aspects of ecumenical theology in a way that I hope makes it more accessible to readers who might not otherwise be inclined to pick up a book on ecumenical theology. The cover photo is not actually of U2, however--it's a stock photo that evokes U2 on stage. And since the instrument has four tuning pegs instead of six, it calls to mind not The Edge but Adam. Since it's not really Adam, I suppose that makes it the cover version of Adam.

Steve,
ReplyDeleteIs this cover a shout-out to U2...a tribute to the Edge...
