About Me

My photo
Steven R. Harmon
I am a Baptist theologian teaching in the School of Divinity at Gardner-Webb University in Boiling Springs, North Carolina, where I serve as Professor of Historical Theology. I previously served on the faculties of Samford University's Beeson Divinity School in Birmingham, Alabama (2008-2010) and Campbell University Divinity School in Buies Creek, North Carolina (1998-2008), as Visiting Professor at Duke Divinity School in Durham, North Carolina (2007), and as Adjunct Professor of Ecumenical Theology at Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary in Columbia, South Carolina (2012). I've created this blog to help my current and former students, professional colleagues, and other interested persons learn about my writing projects and speaking engagements, most of which have to do with ecumenical theology (theology that serves the quest for the visible unity of the church) and other dimensions of what I call "ecclesial theology"--theology done in, with, and for the church. (Views expressed on this blog do not necessarily reflect those of my employer, Gardner-Webb University.)
